A fire broke out on board the boat near Santa Cruz Island in the middle of the night. 33 people went missing. 5 of the 38 people on board were rescued. There are reports of fatalities but no official death toll yet. The boat is submerged, search and rescue operations are underway even in foggy conditions. Reports suggest some people may have been trapped below deck. Those rescued might have been in the main cabin of the boat.
