About 4000 challans issued on Day 1 of new traffic norms in Delhi; traffic offenders to pay hefty fines

The provisions of Motor Vehicle Act amendment came into effect from Sept 1, 2019, in Delhi and on the very first day nearly 4000 challans were issued in the city. Traffic offenders had to pay hefty fines for violating road rules. Over 2500 traffic policemen were deployed across the city. The fine for rash driving is Rs 5000, driving without a license is Rs 5000 & without a seat belt is Rs 1000.
