The Railways sent its 3 top officials on leave, including a secretary-level Railway Board official, suspended 4 officers and transferred 1, after the Utkal Express derailment that killed 23. The chief track engineer of Northern Railways has been transferred. Three others- Northern Railways GM, divisional railway manager, and a railway board member- have been sent on leave.
