Hours after the uproar over the locking of Twitter accounts of several Congress leaders including Randeep Surjewala, the microblogging platform has clarified was based on NCPCR complaint. Twitter said the accounts were blocked as they violated the platform's rules while adding that the leaders had not deleted the posts in question. Twitter was referring to the posts that showed the faces of the family of a minor rape victim.
