After 35 years, finally Garfield phones beach mystery solved

Parts of novelty Garfield telephones washed up on the Iroise coast of Brittany for 35 years; locals clearing littered came across the orange coloured plastics-grinning face, eyes or headless orange fat torso with curly wire, dialpad & plug. The telephones come from a lost container that swept off a cargo ship in 1983 & found at the end of a cave. Still, no one knows how it came & how many such containers fell in the sea?
