Alarm! Fishing nets catching plastic more than fishes in Mumbai: Survey

A survey done by the Central Marine Research Institute revealed that a total of 69 kgs of plastic is found every day in the sea of Mumbai. Out of this, 20 kg of plastic garbage is found in the sea of Ratnagiri and 37 kg of plastic is found near the coast of Tamil Nadu every day. While 2.2 kg of plastic waste is found in the sea of Vishakhapatnam because of which more garbage is caught than fishes in the fishing net.
