Algeria launches investigation into reports of Pegasus spyware attack

After several press reports hinted that Algeria may have been the target of the Israeli-made Pegasus spyware, Algiers expressed "deep concern" over the claim while launching an investigation to verify if the claim was true. The country's foreign ministry called it an "inadmissible, systematic attack on human rights and fundamental freedoms". Algeria also accused Morocco of "spying on Algerian officials and citizens".
