All departments of IIT Madras closed after 71 people test positive for COVID

As many as 71 people have tested positive for the novel coronavirus since December 1, 2020, in IIT Madras, forcing the administration to close down all departments, centers, and the library. Out of the 71 people who tested positive, 66 are students of the institution. The faculty, staff, project staff, and research scholars have been asked to work from home until further orders. Students will get packed food in the hostel.
