Almost 1,000 trees were cut in Aravalli village; perpetrator remains unknown

In the Aravalli village of Kot, almost 1,000 trees have been chopped down in the previous week. According to The Times of India, over 20 acres in a location barely 4 kilometres from the protected Mangar Bani Grove were removed breaking the Punjab Land Conservation Act. Activists have been fighting to conserve the Aravallis for years. They stated that the forest service should identify the violators as soon as possible.
