An expedition to Gartang Gali in Nelong Valley in Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi district near the Indo-China border was started by a 40-member team in five vehicles. The 105-metre wooden bridge is said to be an ancient trade route to Tibet that was built by Peshawar Pathans. The bridge is located at a distance of 90 km from Uttarkashi. The use of the bridge was stopped after the Indo-China war in 1962.
