According to Dr. Bharati, the superintendent of Sri Venkateswara Ramnarain Ruia Government General Hospital in Tirupati, mothers who contract coronavirus after delivery can breastfeed their newborns. “Even if women are affected by coronavirus during 8-9 months of pregnancy, the newborn babies would not be affected, but it is better if the babies also get tested for the coronavirus," the doctor added.
