Andhra Pradesh: First in the nation to give cops a weekly break

Andhra Pradesh becomes the first state in India to give a weekly off to police personnel; from constable to inspector ranks will start getting off from Wednesday. This move comes despite a severe staff crunch, that's about 20% staff shortage in the department. With this weekly offs, the staff crunch will be 30% as 1/7th of the staff will be off duties. Jaganmohan Reddy had made this weekly off as part of his election promises.
