As Uganda shifts to digital identity cards, nearly one-third of the population's healthcare gets neglected

ID cards were first implemented by the National Identification and Registration Authority in 2015. However, according to research, about 23 to 33 per cent of the adult population does not have these ID cards yet, and those that do have the cards, have flaws in them. Human rights organisations are pressing the Ugandan government to eliminate the ID card requirement for access to basic services and healthcare in this report.
