Assam hit by magnitude 4.2 earthquake, fifth quake in 24 hours

Assam was hit by a 4.2-magnitude earthquake in the wee hours of Saturday. It was the fifth quake to hit the state in the last 24 hours. According to the National Center for Seismology, the quake was recorded at 1:07 am and its epicenter was near Tezpur. No loss to property was reported. The state witnessed two more earthquakes, including a 4.1-magnitude one in the wee hours of Friday, with epicenter in Sonitpur district.
