Aviation Ministry green signals use of Wi-Fi on planes

The Ministry of Civil Aviation on Monday announced that the Pilot-in-Command of a flight can allow passengers to use internet service through WiFi on board. "The Pilot-in-Command may permit the access of internet services by passengers on board an aircraft in flight, through Wi-Fi on board, when a laptop, smartphone or a point of sale device is used in flight mode or aeroplane mode," a notification by Aviation Ministry read.
