Beetle fossilized in amber reveals earliest evidence of pollination

The earliest known evidence of a pollinating insect has been discovered preserved in amber from Myanmar dating back to almost 99 million years ago. The fossilized tumbling flower beetle has pollen still stuck to its legs preserved in amber from deep inside a mine. The discovery pushes back the earliest-documented example of insect pollination to around 50 million years earlier than previously believed.
