Bihar sees progressive change as girls preferred over boys for adoption

"Potential parents are applying with options for children on the CERA portal and proceeding to adopt from Bihar's different adoption centers,” said Raj Kumar, Director of Social Welfare Department. According to the welfare department, out of 210 abandoned children, 148 were female and adopted in 2018-19. 71 were adopted by Bihar couples from India, while 39 were adopted by couples residing abroad.
