Brazen human rights violation: Gay men caned 77 times in Indonesia’s Aceh

In a display of sheer violation of human rights, two gay men were publicly caned 77 times each in Indonesia's Aceh province. The two men were arrested in November after a crowd of local residents broke into their room while they were having sex. One of them is 27 years old while the other one is 29. Phil Robertson, deputy director of Human Right Watch’s Asia division condemned the brutal and "medieval punishment."
