After the conclusion of the Brexit transition period on 1 January next year, pet owners in Britain will be required to produce a new document to enter the European Union with their animals. The pet owners will be required to produce an animal health certificate from a vet no earlier than 10 days before travel. Earlier, only a passport was required for British pets to enter the EU. Pets will also be required to be microchipped.
