CAG report reveals 25 rifles, over 12,000 live cartridges missing from Kerala’s special police battalion

The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG), in its performance audit during 2013-18, pulled up the Kerala Police for lapses in handling arms and cartridges in its special armed units and misappropriation of funds under the Modernisation of Police Force Programme. The report reveals that 25 rifles (5.56 mm) and 12,061 live cartridges are missing in the bell of arms of the Special Armed Police Battalion (SAPB).
