The Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) has issued a new set of guidelines for coronavirus vaccine candidates according to which, a candidate needs to have a minimum 50% of efficacy in the Phase-3 clinical trial if the vaccine is to be unrolled. The potential risk associated with vaccination must be disclosed by the firms. Safety standards for pregnant women and women of childbearing potential must be ensured.
