Water scarcity has become a key problem that needs to be addressed in India. As an initiative to overcome the alarming situation of water scarcity, the Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE) has made it mandatory for the schools to become "water-efficient" within the next 3 years by adopting a policy of water management and conducting regular water audits. The schools will be required to install appliances with water-efficient models
