The Central Government has asked the Supreme Court to stop the tractor rally planned by the protesting farmers on January 26. "It is submitted that the Republic Day function on January 26 each year has its own constitutional as well as historical significance," the Centre said in an application filed in the top court while adding that any disruption or obstruction in the said functions would be "a huge embarrassment".
