The Central Government has issued a notification declaring the 50-square kilometer area around the Nargu Wildlife Sanctuary in Himachal Pradesh as an eco-sensitive zone. 17 revenue villages in Jogindernagar and Mandi forest divisions fall under the eco-sensitive zone. The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has invited any individual or group that has any objection to the declaration.
