Centre invites applications for citizenship from non-Muslim refugees from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh

In a major decision, the Union Home Ministry has invited applications for citizenship from non-Muslim refugees from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh, who are residing in 13 districts of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, and Punjab to apply for Indian citizenship. A notification has been issued by the Home Ministry to immediately implement the order under the Citizenship Act 1955 and Rules framed under the law in 2009.
