Chattisgarh government to build 1089 drains to revive depleting groundwater in forests

In a bid to conserve depleting groundwater resources in the forest areas, the Chattisgarh government has identified 1089 drains for treatment and revival. The drains will be built and revived under the Narva Development Scheme. The mission is aimed at reviving 4,28,827 hectares of groundwater reservoirs within the forest-covered land. The Afforestation Management authority has earmarked a budget of Rs 160.95 crore for the same.
