China has surpassed its close rival, US in the tech patents, with the Chinese companies filing more applications in 9 of 10 categories, including artificial intelligence and blockchain, according to what Nikkei study shows. Apart from AI and blockchain, China has patent applications for drones, cybersecurity, virtual reality, autonomous driving, and more, but it still needs to compete US in quantum computing.
