China's survey team seizes first Everest summit of 2020 to remeasure its height

A Chinese survey team reached Mount Everest through Tibet to remeasure the exact height of the world's tallest mountain. According to China's measurement the height of Mount Everest is 8844.43 meters which is four meters less than Nepal's calculations, the state media reported. On May 1, China, which differs with Nepal over the height of Mount Everest, began a new survey to measure the altitude of the world's highest peak.
