According to a report by the Economist Intelligence Unit's (EIU) Climate Change Resilience Index, that was prepared after measuring preparedness of the world's 82 largest economies, climate change may cost the world $7.9 trillion by the end of 2050 as increased drought, flooding and crop failures may severely affect the growth and threaten infrastructure. It would result in a shaving-off of three percent of global GDP by 2050.
