India has recorded a spike of 7,964 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours starting Friday. With the new number of cases, the country's total tally of coronavirus cases has mounted to over 1.73 lakh. The death toll has reached 4,971 with 265 deaths in the past 24 hours. On the brighter side, the number of cured cases has surged to 82,370. Uttar Pradesh is touching 10,000 test per day. Maharashtra has been worst hit.
