Coronavirus outbreak can push half billion population into poverty, losses deeper than 2008 crisis: Oxfam

Oxfam said on Thursday that the fallout from the coronavirus spread has killed more than 83,000 people and wreaked havoc on economies. As per the report, nearly half a billion people can fall into poverty owing to the pandemic. "The economic crisis that is deeper than the 2008 global financial crisis," the report found. It states that governments across the world would need to mobilise $2.5 trillion to overcome the crisis.
