The Calcutta High Court refused to interfere in a matter relating to an interfaith marriage saying that the court can do nothing when an adult woman marries and converts to some other religion willingly. A bench headed by justice Sanjib Banerjee said this while hearing a petition by the father of a 19-year-old Hindu woman, who got married to a Muslim man and also converted to Islam. The woman refused to go back to her parents.
