The Maharashtra government has requested a detailed police report on the actions taken in connection with the dismissal of charges against persons who opposed the cutting of trees in Mumbai's Aarey Forest in 2019. Several tribals, youths, and activists who were protesting tree cutting were detained by police in October 2019, after they assembled at Aarey to halt midnight tree cutting. Many of whom have bleak futures now.
