ICMR Chief Balram Bhargava said that development process of indigenous COVID-19 vaccine must be fast-tracked without any compromise on science, quality & ethics. He also said a clinical study involving human volunteers for COVID-19 vaccine in India is ongoing. 2 Indian indigenous vaccine candidates have been shortlisted after undergoing successful toxicity studies. Besides, preclinical studies for other candidates is also on.
