Data of 1 billion Aadhar holders breached: Report

A study, published by Netherlands-based global privacy watchdog Gemalto, has revealed that out of the 4.5 billion people affected by 945 cases of data breach from January to June 2018, 37% were Indians. It was also found that Aadhar breach incidents led to data theft of nearly one billion Indian Aadhar holders. World-wide, social media was the top target for data breaches and 72% of hacking incidents happened in US.
