More than 80 pigs have died in south Mizoram's Lunglei district over the last two weeks. The concerned authorities think that the reason behind the death of so many pigs in the state is African Swine Fever (ASF). The first death was recorded on March 21. However, the confirmation of African Swine Fever is yet to be confirmed and it can only be ascertained after a test at the National Institute of High Security Animal Diseases.
