Death Valley National Park, California has reached the highest temperature ever recorded on Earth, 54.4C. This temperature comes amid a heatwave on the US's west coast where temperatures are expected to increase further. Before this, the highest temperature recorded on Earth was 54C in Death Valley in 2013. The current heatwave extends from Arizona in the south-west to Washington in the north-west.
