Deloitte misreading a key law in challenging government's call for ban: India

India told a tribunal that Deloitte is misreading and incorrectly interpreting the law, and challenging the government's call for a ban on the auditor for its alleged involvement in financial fraud. The government says the law cant be read in a narrow manner and has detected several violations of auditing standards by Deloitte and a KPMG affiliate during an investigation of fraud at IFIN. However, both deny wrongdoings.
