Bancha in Betul district is the 1st village in India with zero wooden stoves & no use for LPG cylinders. All of the villages' 75 houses rely on solar-powered stoves to meet their cooking needs. IIT Mumbai's team designed a special solar stove & now no trees are being cut by the villagers for lighting their stoves. A villager said now they can cook food without any hassles & has brought electricity into their homes.
