In a heartbreaking incident, a dog joined the funeral procession of a 100-year-old Jain priestess named Piyush Varsha Sadhwi Maharaj in Surat. Only a few people joined the funeral procession of the priestess due to the Covid-19 related norms. The priestess, when alive, used to feed the stray who lived around her house. The dog walked for 5 km under the palanquin and didn't leave until the cremation was done.
