The new military-led junta government in Guinea has released dozens of political prisoners who were put behind the bars by the previous government. The move is seen as an attempt to win the favour of the opposition. As many as 79 prisoners were released by the junta late Tuesday. The released prisoners include several activists from the Union of Democratic Forces of Guinea, a group led by Cellou Dalein Diallo.
