The State Transport Minister Diwakar Raote on Monday said that the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor is going to affect almost 54,000 mangroves spread over 13.36 hectares. When Shiv Sena legislator Maneesha Kayande raised the question in the state Legislative Council, he added, "There'll be no cutting of trees and threat of floods. The pillars will be high and hence will not damage the environment much."
