Eight Bengaluru Covid patients suffer from rare fungal infection

A rare fungal infection in eight Covid patients in Bengaluru has kept the health authorities concerned. The eight patients with the rare infection were admitted to the city’s Medical College and Research Institute and six of them passed away. Known as Sino-orbital invasive disease, the infection is an infection of the eye socket and sinuses. It can prove deadly. Mucormycosis, a fatal fungus causes the infection.
