The Supreme Court of India today said the election process stands threatened by "social media manipulation". A bench headed by Justice SK Kaul said digital platforms can be "imminently uncontrollable at times". "By the very reason of the platform they provide, their influence extends over populations across borders. Facebook is one such corporation," the bench comprising Justices Dinesh Maheshwari and Hrishikesh Roy said.
