Emergency aid worth 253 million euros pledged for Lebanon after blast
An emergency aid worth 253 million euros ($298 million) was pledged at an emergency donor conference organized to provide assistance for Lebanon after the deadly Beirut blast. The announcement was made by President Emmanuel Macron’s office. Various countries across the world have pledged their support to Lebanon. 158 people were killed in the deadly blast in Beirut. Governments have demanded transparency over the use of funds.
