Equifax data breach settlement: will pay consumers atleast $575 million

Equifax settlement over its 2017 data breach was impending, and now the company has agreed to settle. It will be paying between $575 million to $700 million to victims, states & regulators, including a restitution fund that will pay up to $425 million to provide credit monitoring for 10 years. Equifax had been providing free monitoring since Sept 2017. They made multiple changes in a bid to improve its security practices.
