The corpses were discovered in the Setit River, also known as the Tekeze in Ethiopia, which serves as the de facto boundary between the Tigrayan-controlled area and the Amhara-controlled region aligned with Ethiopia's federal government. According to two Ethiopian migrants and four Sudanese witnesses who told Reuters on Monday that they had recovered the dead, at least 30 bodies had washed up on Sudanese banks.
