According to a report, the extreme climate events cost the world over $150 billion in 2020 amid the coronavirus pandemic. The Atlantic Hurricane season that affected United States and Central America was the worst and it cost them $40 billion. Cyclone Amphan, which affected India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka was the fourth most expensive natural disaster to hit the world in 2020. It cost the 3 nations $13 billion.
