Facebook's defunct app collected device data on 187,000 users

Facebook's Research app was banned earlier this year by Apple over violating its rules. The social media giant said that it collected personal & sensitive device data on over 187,000 users, 31,000 US users & the rest from India. TechCrunch investigation earlier this year found that both FB & Google were abusing their Apple-issued enterprise certificates. Apple had banned the apps by revoking FB's developer certificate.
