Farooq Abdullah Warned for 'Greater Revolt' if J&K's Status is Altered

Opposition parties including Congress, CPM and Hurriyat take a stand against any changes in Article 35A of the Constitution. Article 35A offers special privileges to the residents of J&K. Hurriyat leaders have called for a 'Kashmir Bandh' on Aug 12 against proposed withdrawal of Article 35A. Former CM Farooq Abdullah warned such attempts might trigger an uprising "far stronger" than the 2008 Amarnath land row.
